Examination Timetables
In 2008, following consultation with principals, it was agreed that practical and written WACE examinations would be scheduled according to the following principles:
- Written examinations will start, in general, on the first working day in November and continue for 20 working days.
- Practical examinations will start during the first week of the Term 3 holidays and include the weekends and public holiday. No practical examinations would be scheduled during the second week of the Term 3 holidays, enabling schools to run their examinations.
- Large candidature examinations will be scheduled in the first two weeks of the examination period.
This ensures that Year 12 students have the maximum amount of teaching time available before exams start.
The practical examinations commence on 29 September 2012.
The 2012 practical WACE examinations will be scheduled as follows:
- Saturday, 29 September to Sunday, 7 October (Saturday, Sunday and the public holiday included)
Aviation, Dance, Drama, Music and Physical Education Studies - Saturday, 29 September to Tuesday, 16 October (Saturday, Sunday and the public holiday included)
English as an Additional Language/Dialect (overseas schools) - Saturday, 20 October
Chinese: Second Language and Indonesian: Second Language - Saturday, 20 October and Sunday, 21 October
Japanese: Second Language - Saturday, 20 October to Sunday, 28 October (Saturday and Sunday included)
English as an Additional Language/Dialect (Western Australian schools), French, German and Italian.
The written examinations commence on 1 November 2012.
The WACE examination timetables will be published on 27 July 2012.

- 2014 Monday, 3 November – Friday, 28 November
- 2015 Monday, 2 November – Friday, 27 November
