Aboriginal Languages of Western Australia

2008 was the first year of implementation. The first WACE examinations for Aboriginal Languages of Western Australia were conducted in 2009.

Summary

Learning languages leads to cultural and intellectual enrichment. Learning an Aboriginal language of WA will develop mutual respect and understanding leading to social justice in a more harmonious society. The course provides opportunities for students to appreciate the interrelationship of language, land and culture and the importance of linguistic and cultural diversity through learning a traditional language and learning about traditional languages.
