2008 was the first year of implementation. The first WACE examinations for Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies will be conducted in 2009.
Reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians has been described as ‘…about finding new and better ways of tackling problems and of connecting with one another.’ The Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies course provides opportunities for students—Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal—to learn from one another, and learn about their ‘shared histories’. The knowledge, understandings, skills and values students develop through the course will support them as they become active citizens at local, national and global levels.
The materials on this public website include the course syllabus and the grade descriptor package. In addition, teachers can access sample teaching, assessment and examination materials on the Curriculum Council online learning and support extranet. ...Click here
