University Entrance

The Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) is responsible for the ranking of students for university entrance. For students who wish to be considered for university entrance, their school assessment and WACE exam results will be used to calculate a Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER).

The Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) calculates the TER based on the school and exam score provided by the Curriculum Council. A student's Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) is currently based on their four best Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE) subject results. Each subject result is based 50% on school assessment and 50% on the exams. TISC then offers university places based on the ranking.

In the new WACE, the TER will still be based on a student's four best results, with school assessment and WACE exams counting equally. TISC has published the details for how a TER will be calculated for 2008 and 2009 on its website (www.tisc.edu.au).

Please contact TISC for further information about the ranking of students for university entrance.
