2008 was the first year of implementation. The first WACE examinations for Chinese: Second Language will be conducted in 2009.
In the Chinese: Second Language course students develop the necessary skills, understandings and values to communicate effectively with Chinese speakers in both social and workplace contexts in Australia and elsewhere. They develop a stronger sense of their own personal identity and greater respect for people of the Chinese-speaking world.
